Catching up with Alvin

Some updates for all the Alvin fans out there...

Alvin has been getting more curious lately. His new favorite thing to do is find doors, drawers, and cabinet doors. He is learning how to open and shut them. Sometimes its fun to pull out the pots or the Tupperware.

Another recent trick is standing unassisted. He began experimenting with this a few weeks ago by letting go for a brief moment. Now he can let go of his crutch and stand unassisted for 15-20 seconds easily.

Alli is teaching him how to hold his bottle so that we don't have to. He seems to be getting the hang of it but is more than willing to sit back and be fed.

He is about to get two more teeth. His two top teeth are just underneath the surface of his gums. I expect them to push through any day now.

The foods he is currently enjoying are: oatmeal with applesauce, ham with papaya salsa, creamy spinach, yogurt, and any fruity dessert with added sugar. He also seemed to like the couscous off of Dad's plate this evening.

Alvin is beginning to learn the word 'no'. He hears this word when he tries to play with the wine rack and tries to pull leaves off the plants.

He is also attempting to climb objects now. He conquered a couple steps at the grandparents' house this weekend and he loves to climb all over Dad.

The little guy got to spend the past two weekends at his grandparents' house in Boulder and will get to see all four of his grandparents in two weeks. He will be dedicated at church on May 13.

He turned 9 months old today.
