Christmas 2007

The three of us got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning together. On Christmas Eve we attended the worship service at Pathways at 4pm. Afterward we went home, lighted the fifth candle on the Advent wreath, ate shepherd's pie made with sweet potatoes and cooked in the Dutch oven, and read the Christmas story out of Ergemeier's Bible Story book. Then Alvin got his Christmas Eve gift which turned out to be his pajamas. Once he went to bed, Alli and I watched It's A Wonderful Life which was my first time to see it.

On Christmas morning we woke up to snow falling. It snowed all day and we ended up with about 8 inches. After getting up and having a small snack, Alvin got to open his gifts. There were puzzles, wooden toys, books, and a Smartville Train Station. Alli was more impatient about opening the gifts than Alvin. In fact, Alvin was somewhat oblivious to there being more gifts. Once he would get something new he would play with it until he was stopped to open another.

Nell and David came down to our place at about 10am for brunch. They brought Almond danish to go along with a sausage/spinach quiche and a bread pudding. We had a nice morning playing with Alvin and his new toys. Around 3:15pm we loaded up both cars and headed up to the Fishers for dinner.
