The last month has been anything but routine around here. Fortunately we have been blessed with great family and friends to support us. I'm thankful that life is beginning to find its rhythm again.
Some signs of normalcy include...
The scooter made its 2008 debut on Sunday and Monday as the temperature actually rose above freezing in Denver. The black and red ride started up on the first try after nearly three months on the shelf.
The kitchen is open again. We have been back to cooking. Meals have included a roasted chicken and a sausage and potato frittata. Tonight we made a black bean soup from the cookbook Jane got us from The Columbia Cuban restaurant in Ybor City, Tampa. Alvin devoured the black beans and rice.
My muscles are actually sore after returning to the gym Sunday and today. It has been refreshing to get my heart-rate up with physical activity.
Last night I got to hang with the fellas. We get together every Monday night to share our lives and pray together. We met at Stella's Coffee Haus and after two hours walked across the street to the Pearl St Grill. The cards came out and we closed down the tavern at 1am when the game of Spades ended. These are the five guys who generously supplied us with more than a week's worth of meals while Alli was staying at her hospital resort.
Today was my day with Alvin. Besides going to the gym we met up with my friend Stevens at the Museum of Nature and Science. Alvin had a great time running around the halls of wildlife exhibits and playing in the discovery zone.

Tomorrow morning I will be back to work with a short interruption to give blood to Bonfils. Alli and I are also going to volunteer and attend the Hillary Clinton rally at the Richey Center on the campus of DU tomorrow night. Neither of us have officially determined who we are going to support yet but this will be a good chance to learn more and hear Bill Clinton speak.
Saturday is Groundhog's Day and to celebrate we will go out for dinner with our friend Lori Rodgers. Lori and I will both add a year to our age this weekend.
Next Tuesday is Super Tuesday and I will be participating in the caucus. Too bad for Alli who is isn't registered with a party.
