Tonight at dinner Alvin kept saying a word Chad and I couldn't understand and reaching out and asking to hold hands. The word sounded like "Amy." When we finally consented to allow Alvin to hold our hands, he bowed his head, still trying to look up at us to see what we were doing. And then he said what we finally deciphered as "Amen" and let go of our hands. Alvin was mimicking us in prayer. We prayed about 11 times during dinner tonight.
For those of you wondering, he also says "gee" for Jesus and "church" when we pull up to church on Sundays. Yes, he is a pastor's kid.
