Hello friends!
It has been a while since we've been able to give you an update on what is going on with the Wible's. We have had a busy two months during soccer season. Even in the midst of that, we have been grateful and blessed with life here in Denver and living the life that God has given.
Highlights from the past couple of months:
- Ecclesia continues to move along. We have a wonderful group of people. We have been talking and learning more about worship and what that is all about. Administratively, we have been putting together by-laws and a constitution to move along in becoming part of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
- Chad is now a licensed pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church. This is the first step in pursuing ordination. - Our house is still on the market. We have had a ton of showings the past two months, but the right person has not walked through the door. We are mostly patient with this, but would welcome prayers. Now that winter has hit, we laugh a lot when we ask where some winter-y item is and realize it is in a box somewhere... Laughing helps keep us warm.
- Chad's third season is wrapping up coaching soccer. His team goes into the playoffs next week. He has done a great job with a challenging season - he had half his team graduate last year, so it has been a rebuilding year.
- Alvin is in school 3 days a week, as well as in a spanish class that meets once a week after school. He loves his teachers and friends. This has been a great environment for him to be challenged and have friends to play with. Potty training is behind us. And he is excited to be a conductor for Halloween. He is asking questions and carrying on conversations - just a lot of fun to be around these days.
- Olivia is doing great. She is growing and developing well. She continues to see an OT once a week and we will go back to the cardiologist in a few months, but other than that, she is a regular kiddo. We are grateful everyday for that.
- I'm spending a lot of time managing the kiddos (especially during soccer season) but have been working with Urban Skye on some projects and preaching occasionally at Ecclesia. One project that I hope you can check out is Urban Skye's A Denver Book of Prayer. Twelve communities came together, each contributing a month of readings and daily office, to create a year-long prayer book for the city. Ecclesia contributed the month of December. I had a lot of fun working with a team on that project.
Coming up:
We are looking forward to a travel-filled November. Since we did not travel at all this summer, for obvious reasons, we are taking advantage of Thanksgiving week, plus some days to get out of town and see lots of family and put some miles on the car.
We also have the chance to go on a pastor's retreat earlier in the month. It will be wonderful to get to the mountains, but also continue to get to know others in the Covenant church.
